Let's all start Blogging!

Before I get started, keep in mind that when I was in high school, we had no computers, internet & I didn't fare particularly well with the typewriter. So this is a stretch for me as well as some of you. End of excuses... This blog spot is to help "the family' keep in touch and keep everyone posted with family events, photos, etc... let's all work together to make this a site that everyone looks forward to looking at and posting to. Lori

They are in the process of buying a home on the border of Taylorsville & Murray. We look forward to celebrating with them on October 3rd, as they are united as man & wife.

Paul Metcalf Family:

Paul, Paula, Seth & Kelli went to Michigan to cheer on the UTES! ( It worked!) Jenna will be home on Tuesday Sept. 23rd at 1:00 p.m. Hopefully she can speak on Sunday the 28th at 10:40 a.m. with a get together at our house afterwards. Aaron and Angela are getting married on Oct. 3rd in the Salt Lake Temple. They will be having a reception later that evening. They have been looking for a house to buy and have put down an offer on one about 2 miles from our house. I just had my final reconstructive surgery . I hope that's the end of this cancer business. Kelli is doing great. She does not have to have radiation or chemotherapy. She has been up to the Huntsman Cancer Center who have been studying her tissue samples. Huntsman also sent her samples to a doctor-pathologist in California who specializes in breast cancer and they agree with Huntsman on the course of treatment. We are waiting for her to heal and then she will finish her reconstructive surgery sometime in September. Laura started back to school at SLCC. She is taking English, Chemistry and Ballet. She also works full time and is sporting a beautiful engagement ring... more info to come.

Bayne sent in some family information:

Here are a few quick notes:Nicole and Nate just moved to St. George so he can go to nursing school at Dixie; he just graduated a couple of weeks ago from the "Y" in "Exercise Science". Nicole had to quit her job with DI in order to go (there were no positions available in St. George for transfer--unfortunately!) So--they'll both be wearing out shoe leather looking for work. David started his PhD program in "Applied Social Psychology" at the "Y" , and is a TA and Instructor there (received his Masters' degree in the Spring. His eye is progressing well--thankfully. Greenwood, Middleton, Hanson and Christensen families, along with great-grandson Logan are doing great. I celebrated 40 years of marriage ; hope Delene celebrated, too!

Wendy & Marshall sent in a photo of Sydney.

She is now 9lb 4oz and doing very well.

Cindy writes:
As for news, there really is none. Dean is still looking for work and for a home for the cats.( Any one need a cat?) Megan still keeps a full schedule, going to work, school, dance and out with Brian. Ri and I are still trying to sell the Tahoe and Dean's Blazer. Have them listed under blue book and have not received many calls.

Deborah Hanson :

First, I don’t know how many know that my husband,
Gary, adopted Sarah in March of this year. So she is now

Sarah Marie Hanson. (Now Gary officially has two daughters named Sarah.) Sarah’s baby, Logan was born

on May 12, 2008. use. (It’s much more fun being a grandma! ) Hope all is well with the family!
Love,
Deb

The Robert Metcalf Family:

In August Bob spent time bow hunting with Marc, Isaac, Richard, Cindy & Dean. Richard shot a nice (heavy) elk at the LaSal's down by Moab that they had to pack out. Bob just purchased a new (old) Honda Goldwing motorcycle. He needed another project to work on! In his spare time.

Brooke and Tate had a beautiful wedding and a great honeymoon to New York City! They went to two Yankee baseball games, Tate caught a foul ball, 3 plays and a harbor cruise on the 4th.
The are going to have a baby around Valentine's day.

Ashley is spending lots of time taking care of the babies and loving it. She wanted let everyone know that sadly- she not going to be at Thanksgiving AGAIN because" I'll be in Hawaii trying to impress them into letting me come to residency there. " She is in the process of applying for residency positions in Pediatrics & OB/GYN programs.

Bryce is in school at ISU, I hopes of graduation in the spring. He is not playing football this year. His hip couldn't take anymore abuse! We are in hopes he will have more time now to study!!

I hope that everyone is doing well. Looking forward to seeing you at Aaron's wedding. Please log onto blog spot and... Blog away!
